Join us for our May program at the beautiful Schlitz Audubon Nature Center and learn about their plan to revitalize their 185 acres and strengthening the land’s biological diversity. The land is the foundation for everything they do.
Their goal is to create a healthy 21st century environment guided by the region’s unique ecological heritage.
The Center offers environmental education and natural experiences for people of all ages and abilities.
Join Schlitz Audubon’s Director of Conservation, Marc White, for a presentation and discussion surrounding the Center’s 15-year Conservation Plan. Marc will share the goals and early achievements of the plan, now in the third year of implementation. The program will feature the Stormwater Wetland and Ravine Restoration Project, which is scheduled to take place this year. The best management practices used by the center to increase biotic diversity and ecosystem function and overcome threats posed by emerald ash borer, invasive species, and nuisance wildlife will also be addressed. Participants will leave with ideas on how to implement these strategies in our region.
For planning purposes, attendees are asked to register for the May program, even if they are not a member.
