Wisconsin Loves Parks Day
Date: Saturday, May 11 Time: 10am – 3pm
Location: Kohler-Andrae State Park, 1020 Beach Park Lane, Sheboygan
SC-Great Waters Group will host a WI Loves Parks Event at Kohler-Andrae State Park.
For five years, Friends of the Black River Forest (FBRF) have held off the destructive plans for Kohler-Andrae State Park and for the rare wetland north of the park. FBRF fought the Walker administration’s pro-business DNR and Herb Kohler Jr.’s $7.5 B.
Hear their story and the story of the rare beech grove they are trying to protect. Naturalist Jim Buchholz will give a talk and we’ll have a nature hike through the still-pristine beauties of historic Terry-Andrae Park.
Bring a picnic lunch and something to throw on the grill, if you’d like.
We will have the hot grills ready for you. Some beverages will be provided. Bring your own, if you’d like.
Parking – available next to the shelter – REMEMBER to get a WI State Parks sticker to enter the Park.
